US stock heatmap

This is the stock heatmap layout for a handful of large US companies. The prices are samples. TickHeat does not yet have a licensed live stock feed, and the page does not pretend otherwise.

Sample prices, on purpose

Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla and JPMorgan are on the board so you can see how a stock heatmap is arranged. The numbers are the sample bases the app uses when it has no live stock quote. The change is left blank. A blank is not a claim that the share was unchanged today.

A live stock tile needs a licensed feed. Until that exists, colouring these tiles with invented percents would look like a market and would be false. Forex and commodities on the other pages of this site do use a live quote cache. Stocks do not, and the label on the widget says sample.

How a stock heatmap is meant to be read

When a live feed is connected, each tile is a company, the colour is a percent change over the window you picked, and the size can follow market cap or stay equal. Size and colour answer different questions. A giant quiet tile is a large company that did not move much. A small loud tile is a smaller move in the ranking and a larger move in the percent.

Equal sizes on this page keep one sample price from looking more important because the share happens to trade at a high dollar price. Market cap is the sizing people usually want for a US board, and that control lives in the app, not in this sample.

What you can do with it now

Use the page to learn the layout, then open the app if you want those symbols on a board next to crypto or forex that do have live quotes. The app will still mark stock tiles as a sample until a stock feed is connected. Mixing a sample stock tile with a live bitcoin tile is fine as long as you can tell them apart. The labels are there for that.

A heatmap of shares is a scan of moves, once the moves are real. It is not a model portfolio and it is not a list of companies anyone is told to own. The names here are only a familiar US set so the grid is recognisable.

Questions

Are these live stock prices?
No. They are sample prices. There is no licensed live US stock feed on TickHeat yet.
Why is the percent blank?
A made-up percent would look like a real day. The page leaves the change empty and marks the tile as a sample.
Which companies are shown?
Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla and JPMorgan.
